Definition: Obedience, in human behavior, is a form of “social influence in which a person yields to explicit instruction or orders from an authority figure.

Synonym: compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another’s authority.

Example: He had not long resumed it, in obedience to his superior, when Raphael came to Florence and formed to close friendship with him.
